In March 2019 a grant of €3,000 was given towards the installation of a, much needed, Solar Energy System at the Salem Youth Centre in Kombolcha, Ethiopia. The system is designed to intervene when there are disruptions of supply (of which there are apparently many) from the national electricity grid.
The Youth Centre, among other facilities, assists young people in their education through the provision of a public library:
